A Love Letter to the Body
Staff | FEB 10
Dear body,
You have been misunderstood.
I blamed you when things felt heavy.
I pushed you when rest was what you needed.
I asked you to endure things you were never meant to carry alone.
And still, you stayed.
You adapted.
You compensated.
You held memory when my mind couldn’t.
You tightened when I didn’t feel safe.
You numbed when it was too much.
You softened when it finally was allowed.
I’m learning to listen now.
Not to dominate you.
Not to override you.
But to trust that you’ve been communicating all along.
Thank you for every breath you took without asking.
For every step forward, even when I hesitated.
For carrying me into this moment.
I’m not here to conquer you anymore.
I’m here to be with you.
With love,
Me
