Flexibility vs. Mobility

Flexibility is often treated as the gold standard of movement health. Can you touch your toes? Can you fold deeper? Can you stretch farther?

But flexibility alone doesn’t tell the full story.

What most bodies actually need is mobility — the ability to move through range with control, stability, and breath.

A flexible joint without strength can feel unstable.

A strong joint without range can feel rigid.

Mobility lives in the middle.

Mobility is what helps you bend down and stand back up without strain. It’s what allows you to twist, reach, rotate, and change direction in real life (not just on a mat.)

Flexibility can feel impressive.

Mobility feels sustainable.
