How to Set Intentions for the New Year Through Movement
Staff | DEC 30, 2025
Forget resolutions.
Forget the lists and the “new year, new you.”
What if instead, you moved your way into the next phase — slowly, intentionally, like a prayer written through your body?
Start with Breath
Close your eyes.
Place one hand on your heart, one on your belly.
Inhale possibility.
Exhale pressure.
Feel your ribs expand, your shoulders soften.
The new year doesn’t need a plan, it needs presence.
Move What’s Ready to Go
Play a song that makes you feel alive.
Let your body respond; twist, sway, shake.
Imagine each exhale sweeping out the old energy. Rvery doubt, every “should,” every stale story.
This is the art of release.
Let the Intention Find You
Instead of forcing it, listen.
What is your body craving this year? Rest? Connection? Courage? Joy?
Your movement is the message.
Your body will tell you the truth long before your mind does.
Seal It with Stillness
After movement comes quiet.
Sit or lay in savasana.
Whisper your intention softly, as if speaking to your future self:
“I am ready.”
Then let silence do the rest.
You don’t need to chase transformation.
You are already becoming; breath by breath, movement by movement.
